Breakfast at the Wolsely

During a special trip up to London I was treated and taken to the Wolsely for breakfast. I have to say stepping into the beautiful building I felt like I was part of the carrie diaries or a lunch with the sex and the city ladies.

The Wolsey is the type of restaurant that needs to be booked weeks in advance to get into the main eating area. As it was a treat it was planned in advance and luckily we got to sit amongst the beautiful seats and elegant chandeliers. Whilst we got seated and followed the protocol of putting our napkins on our laps and having a browse over the glorious menu they asked what we wanted for drink. This was rather easy for me as I don't drink coffee as tea is a British icon I decided to dive in for the tea. After having a good look at the exquisite ceiling and wall art out came in gorgeous silver tea pots the tea. It really was very English with the certain way of pouring and drinking the tea but also very nice.

After reading the menu containing all the breakfast you could possibly want I decided on Greek yoghurt and for the main breakfast I decided to have kippers with a mustard butter. As the Greek yoghurt was like a starter or breakfast it came out first. It was the best Greek yoghurt I have tasted and after dripping the honey amongst the yoghurt it was the best starter I could have wanted.

Next came the kipper and it was presented in a perfect way as even the lemon was wrapped in a special casing that caught the pips as the lemon was squeezed on the kipper. It was very good and tasty as they had cooked it in a way that made it contain a bunch of yummy ingredients.

Overall the food was lovely and very worth going there however also part of the enjoyment was the building. It was beautiful and covered in beautiful art and decor. As you will see from the pictures it was very easy snapping some great snaps as the whole place was picturesque.

If you ever get a chance to go and taste and be a part of a great restaurant I would go for it. Although it does have a bit of a price attached to it, it is worth just having a look and a gaze at the lovely pastries and decor.
